This post is specifically for those who have tough time defining goals for themselves and for those may know their goals but don’t really know how to achieve them. So here is a list of some of the activities that can help you reach your goals as suggested by Dr. Shelly Batra.
GOAL NO.1
Endurance Training
How to achieve it?
You can achieve it through these activities:
- Cycling
- Rowing
- Running
- Stair climbing at a moderate to high level for approximately 45 minutes (70 – 80% of maximum heart rate)
How do these help?
These allow for high intensity workouts that increase endurance levels.
GOAL NO.2
How to achieve it?
You can achieve it through these activities if done at a moderate to high intensity level for at least 20 minutes:
- Walking
- Jogging
- Swimming
- Cycling
- Dancing
- Rowing
- Skipping a rope
How do these help?
Any of these exercises that you do will consume calories and more calories will be burnt in aerobic exercises as compared to just stretching so this will lead to weight loss eventually.
GOAL NO.3
Muscle Definition
How to achieve it?
You can achieve it through these activities:
- Choose a circuit of exercises with minimal rest time between each set you carry
- Weight training with rapid shifts from one exercise to another with minimum rest time (approximately 30 seconds only)
How do these help?
This results in substantial increase in caloric expenditure, ultimately helping you to decrease body fat and heighten definition.
GOAL NO.4
Muscle Building
How to achieve it?
You can achieve it through these activities:
- Workout with heavy weights
- Low volume, high intensity workout
- Aerobic activities
- Cycling
- Running
- Stair climbing
- Rowing
How do these help?
These help simply by building muscles when combined with high protein intake.
