Too much chicken can sneak in extra fat and sugar into your diet: Study reveals surprising details

For daily protein intake, chicken breasts are the preferred choice for most people. For health reasons, chicken may comprise the majority of a person’s diet. A recent study, however, suggests that eating too much chicken might not be as healthful as we previously believed.

Overindulgence in fat and sugar may be caused by eating too much chicken breast with ketchup. The study’s startling findings were made public. Cheese, pizza, and ice cream are already notorious for being unhealthy foods. But we never realized that we were secretly smuggling in extra fat and sugar into our diets when we ate chicken and little portions of ketchup.

Chicken is low saturated fat food, but…

While chicken breast is generally recognized as a lower-saturated-fat food, it’s important to remember that foods with lower saturated fats can also gradually introduce saturated foods into the diet. This was stated in a media release by Professor Christopher Taylor, director of medical dietetics at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University and lead study author.

Unexpected daily sources of sugar and fat

Three thousand American individuals participated in the study, which looked into the nation’s harmful eating patterns. The study also contributes to raising awareness of the unanticipated daily sources of fat and sugar that we include in our diets. Professor Christopher Taylor went on to say that although ketchup and chicken breast are not bad foods, we should understand how they are made.

The study listed the top foods that provide the body with saturated fat: cheese, pizza, ice cream, and eggs. Saturated fat level is also high in fried potatoes, full milk, cold meats, and cream replacements. The body gets extra sugars from beverages and sweets including pies, soft drinks, tea, fruit drinks, and cakes. Yeast breads, cereal bars, energy drinks, and sauces with tomato base all give extra sugar to the body.
